The Largo Flying Club, a group of model aircraft enthusiasts chartered

by the Academy of Model Aeronautics, has used a portion of the

midsection of Largo Central Park for many years to fly their aircraft.

This summer, the Club graciously agreed to offer a weekly club activity

to Largo summer campers to introduce the hobby of model aircraft. At

the end of eight weeks the club treated the children to an air show and

opportunity to fly the aircraft that had been made by the children under

the watchful eyes of club members.

The Largo Recreation, Parks and Arts Department wishes to

recognize the Largo Flying Club for their generous contribution of

time, enthusiasm, professionalism and patience in presenting a

wonderful learning opportunity to camp participants.
